Snow In SLO

Snow on the Mountain
On Monday morning, SD returned home from the gym and exclaimed, "There's snow on York Mountain!" Frankly, I don't care if I ever see snow again, but this is a rare enough occurrence that we went out to take pictures. Unfortunately, the good camera is not working, so I didn't get as good of a shot as I would have liked. If you squint and use your imagination, you can see the snow. Of course, it melted right away, but it made the six o'clock news.

Ice Vine

Things cleared up on Tuesday and I went for a long run with Bunny and M.A. We went down to the beach and tried a new route. It turned out to be pretty good, with a mix of asphalt and dirt, hills and flat. We planned to run eleven miles, and just went over by a half mile. We ran along some bluffs above the sea, which I have run before, but then climbed up to the ridge trail, which I had never been on. That's one of the things I like about my running friends, they are willing to explore new territory.

In Step

Another thing I like about them is that they show up. Today we planned a recovery run and Bunny and M.A. showed up even though it was raining lightly. The others bailed. We ran for 3.5 miles, then headed to the coffee shop for a recovery 'latte. :-)
