MeMe

I got tagged by Peter to reveal 5 things you don't know about me. Since I once posted 100 things about myself, I'm not sure I have much new. Here goes.
  1. When I lose something, I pray to St. Anthony to help me find it. He usually comes through. :-)

  2. I iron my pillowcases.

  3. I participate on a running community board and my screen name is Not2Fast.

  4. I haven't had an alcoholic drink in 20 years.

  5. I registered for the Big Sur International Marathon 21-Miler!

Yep, I thought I'd spring that last one on you. After debating whether to sign up for the marathon or the 21-mile race, I picked the latter. The Nike marathon cinched it. I was afraid the 21 mile race wouldn't give me a sense of accomplishment, but remembering how my knee gave out at mile 15 during Nike, 21 miles will be challenging enough. I forgot that racing is different than a long, slow distance run. So now I have a race to train for. :-)

Here's something not about me. AmyBee ran the New York Marathon! Her race report is up--go give her an Atta Girl.

I didn't realize it was a 21 mile event! To me, that seems doable, since most of us seem to either hit the wall, are wrought with pain, or can no longer run right after that point! What a great goal, Dori!

Now, that's cool, we'll meet again! And, you'll get to meet Eric! See you there.

Who is this St. Anthony guy? I lost a million bucks the other day...

21 miler? That's cool. I like races of odd distances. Anyone can do a marathon. But to find a 21-miler, that's hard. I have done 1M, 2M, 3M, 4M, 5M, (no 6M race), 7M, 10M, 15M, and 20M races. I'm on the lookout for those other distances. (I know of a couple 8M races, in Pittsburgh and Petersburg Virginia, but I haven't gotten to them yet.)

hey my friend!

Big Sur sounds fun -- should be a beautiful course and a fun time.

Thanks for the plug here...I'm full of the 'woulda's/ coulda's/ shoulda's" about NYC....

Hope to see you running this week.

Nice...didn't realize there was a 21 miler...interesting!! It will be a new PR!! I love new distance for races. I'm doing a 6K or 12K in January...most likely the 12K since it seems stupid to get dressed for it and only run 3.5 or so!

Those 21 miles at Big Sur will be as tough as a flatter marathon, so don't take it lightly ...

And oh, yeah - have fun!
