My Kind of Town

Greetings from Chicago. It's the night before the marathon and I thought I'd check in. Getting ready to go to bed, just need to double check that I have everything laid out. The hotel where I'm at is across the street from the start, so I have no worries about getting there on time. Race starts at 7:30, so I'm meeting my friend, Bunny, at 6 in the lobby and we'll head over. She's hoping for a BQ tomorrow and I think she can do it. I'm just hoping for a PR--any PR!

The expo was a lot of fun and that took care of Friday. Today I tried to stay off my feet, so SD and I took a boat tour of Chicago. The weather has been incredible, in the 80s, which is too hot for a marathon, but that's the way it is. At least I trained in heat, and there's no humidity.

Chicago is one of my favorite cities and I'm having a great time. Hopefully the marathon will be one of my favorites, too! I'll let you knwo how it goes.

You were fabulous!.. And you FINISHED.
We did Chicago the year they canceled it in the middle. Don continued to run anyway.
With water stops being out, we were slow enough to be turned back at the half.. and then there was no water to get back anyway. What a mess.
Loved your account. Thanks for details .. and a revisiting for those of us who have been to Chicago.
Great job... Looking good, Marathoner.
