Dori, you lived in Newport? I'm from Salem originally and have been to Newport many, many times. Love it. It's on my short list of places to retire someday.

Just Kidding: I've actually never tried them, so I can't really say anything. I never liked the idea of it, but I am usually pretty easy when it comes to food.
Like your blog. Good to see another MN runner. I live in South Florida now, but lived in MN for eight years, so I still have a strong love for the midwest.
Escargot is all about the garlic butter, people! My stepmother, who has been my mother for over 40 years, is of French descent. Her parents immigrated from France and ran a French restaurant. I watched my parents eat them for years, with the same aversion you display, then when I was 23 decided I should give them a try. I even eat liver--but only if it's disguised as pate!
